Our Story: Kiln Creek Realty is birthed
Upon driving around the Kiln Creek community one Friday afternoon, installing signs, Fred had the idea “What if we opened a real estate company in Kiln Creek?” After a phone call and some brain storming sessions, Fred and Cheryl decided it was a fantastic idea! The next Monday the name was purchased, and the dream was birthed. Growing Pains though our beginnings were small, but through God’s grace and the tireless efforts of the founding partners, Kiln Creek Realty has grown to be a successful Real Estate company. We help not only Kiln Creek residents, but the surrounding Hampton Roads families with their real estate needs! Our company is made up of several dedicated full-time real estate agents with diverse backgrounds.
Cheryl was extremely knowledgeable about the current housing market. As first time home buyers she helped us understand the process. We don’t believe we would have gotten our dream house if Cheryl hadn’t done the work she did. I first met Cheryl looking for a home into 2013. Although the first home she showed me was not for me, she continued to assist me as I found other homes of interest. She assisted me through the entire process, answering all questions I had. Closing went smoothly, and I was very happy. It is now 2015, and I recently had the occasion to need assistance with a FSBO – for sale by owner contract – so I contacted Cheryl. She was more than happy to assist once again. I was a FSBO, ready to do my own marketing and pricing, until a chance visit to a neighboring real estate office. At the time I was just walking in to see the other listings in my neighborhood to establish a competitive price to post on For Sale By Owner website, certainly not for employing an agent, as I have always been skeptical of them. However, Cheryl quickly quelled my concerns with her honest personal manner and expertise. She told me she could get about $20,000 more than what I was considering to list my house for. I think Fred’s approach, though unorthodox in some Realtor’s eyes, is cutting edge. He was able to save me on commissions and yet I saw no obvious cut in service. As a matter of fact, I believe he went above and beyond what many full commissioned Realtor’s would have provided. He dealt with keeping the property maintained, utilities, advertising, and showings, etc. Add to the fact that I lived in California and all dealings were via email, fax or telephone.
Our buying and selling experience went great with your assistance in setting up appointments for us to look at homes and construction sites . During our two months together, we learned a lot about the housing market. Your understanding of what type of house we desired as well as our price range, expedited our move.
